The Cardiovascular Intervention Center (CVIC) is a core element of the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute, performing more than 8000 procedures a year. The department serves the populations of neonates to and including geriatrics. The Cardiovascular Intervention Center is located on the sixth floor of the Professional Tower. In this seven-laboratory facility, a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures is performed for coronary artery disease, heart muscle function and heart valve dysfunction. Many procedures done in the Cardiovascular Intervention Center involve heart catheterization, a process by which tubes (catheters) are threaded through an artery and vein to the heart where various procedures can be done.
